About The Coach Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholarship

The Coach Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholarship, in collaboration with Millennium Campus Network (MCN), is a scholarship program supporting undergraduate leaders from historically underrepresented communities with a passion for sustainability who are interested in learning about how we can build a better future for our planet by advancing progress towards a circular economy. The Coach Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholarship is made possible by a grant to Millennium Campus Network via the Coach Foundation.

Selected scholars receive scholarships, mentorship, and access to a supportive community platform. Apply by Monday, July 29th. 

Coachtopia is a Coach sub-brand dedicated to circular craft and collaborative creativity, catalyzing the brand's progress towards a fully circular business model. Through its Made Circular™ design philosophy, Coachtopia reimagines the product lifecycle from end to beginning—reducing the creation of new materials by crafting with waste and designing products that can be reimagined, remade and recycled to live multiple lives. Through our partnership with Coachtopia, scholars will have the opportunity to learn about pioneering new models for circularity through the unique lens and expertise Coachtopia provides.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Requirement

    You must be at least 18 years old by August 15, 2024.

  • Academic Standing

    You must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Preference will be given to students in their junior or senior years.

  • Financial Need

    You must demonstrate financial need to complete your undergraduate studies.

  • Field of Interest

    You have a strong passion for circularity and/or sustainability. Preference for fashion-related applications.

  • First-Generation Students

    Preference will be given to first-generation university students.

  • Geographic Location

    Open to applicants worldwide. Preference to applicants from countries where Coach and/or Coachtopia operate.

Program Overview

  • Training & Special Webinars

    Scholars will engage in Millennium Fellowship training and are invited to special webinars focused on the circular economy and designing circular systems.

  • Community & Peer Network

    Scholars will engage in Millennium Fellowship training and are invited to special webinars focused on the circular economy and designing circular systems.

  • Access to Mentorship

    Scholars will have access to mentorship sessions, including one-on-one and group meetings with the Coachtopia team, focusing on career and personal development to facilitate entry into careers in sustainability, circularity or the circular economy, as well as fashion.

  • Voice & Visibility

    The Coach Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholarship will be spotlighted and featured at global events, including the Millennium Fellowship Global Townhall and Graduation, enhancing their visibility and recognition.

  • Coachtopia Challenge

    Scholars will join the Coachtopia team and industry leaders (virtually!) for a day of collaboration, problem-solving and learning, focused on designing new circular models to help solve the current challenges of sustainability.

Scholarship Timeline

The Coach Dream It Real x Coachtopia Scholarship is structured to guide scholars through a comprehensive program aimed at inspiring and equipping students with the mindsets, knowledge and tools to further pursue paths in circularity. Here is the key timeline for the scholarship.

  • August 20, 2024: Inaugural Scholars Announced at Millennium Fellowship Town Hall - The first group of scholars will be officially introduced during the Millennium Fellowship Town Hall event.

  • August - November 2024: Leadership Training & Community Building - Scholars will participate in the Millennium Fellowship program, by participating in training sessions, attending global webinars, and community events while working on their project.

  • August 2024 - July 2025: Scholarship Distribution - Financial support will be distributed to scholars to cover their educational expenses, ensuring they can focus on their studies and projects.

  • November 22, 2024: Millennium Fellowship Global Graduation -Scholars will be featured in the global graduation ceremony, joining thousands of fellows, university officials, UN representatives, and more. The event will be broadcast live from campuses worldwide.

  • January 2025: Certification - Scholars who successfully complete the Millennium Fellowship graduation requirements will receive a certificate of recognition from the United Nations Academic Impact and the MCN. Additionally, their achievements and leadership will be highlighted through a digital profile.

  • January - June 2025: Post-Fellowship Engagement - Scholars will have access to ongoing webinars and mentorship programs designed to support their continued development and leadership growth.

  • June 2025: Beyond Alumni Engagement - Scholars will play an active role in selecting the next cohort of scholars.

  • The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students worldwide who have applied to the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2024 application, regardless of their field of study, who have a demonstrated passion for sustainability and/or circularity, particularly as it applies to the fashion industry. Preference will be given to students in their junior or senior years.
