JAMES ODHIAMBO,
Chief of Staff
James Odhiambo is a social advocate, lawyer, writer, and youth leadership development enthusiast. He graduated from the University of Nairobi School of Law with honours and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law after passing the bar - enroute to becoming an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. James has a deep passion for community and social impact.
As a Millennium Fellowship alumnus and Peace First Grantee, James has demonstrated a deep commitment to social justice and human rights. He has founded multiple social impact initiatives, including Kumbuka (an anti post-election violence initiative aimed at desensitizing low income youth against political radicalisation) and Pamoja for Turkana (providing relief to starving Kenyans in remote North Western regions). He’s been recognized with the prestigious King Constantine’s medal for Rendering Service Above Self by Roundsquare, was named Mr University at the University of Nairobi School of Law, and received the Diana Award.
James's long-term career goal is to work at the nexus of law, international policy, and social impact to make a lasting impact on the world. He is committed to becoming a leading African voice for positive change in the years ahead.
As Chief of Staff James plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Director and ensuring the seamless execution of MCN's programs. He helps drive organizational alignment, manage cross-functional projects, and foster collaboration across teams to ensure strategic priorities are met. He also streamlines communication between leadership and stakeholders, oversees programmatic implementation, and provides operational leadership to enhance MCN's global impact in advancing the SDGs.
